Badger
Watching.
We
are able to offer escorted visits
to the Strathspey Badger Hide
which is open from the middle of
March to the end of Summer.
The
Highland Badger Network is a
loose-knit collection of people
with the common interest of
protecting the welfare of badgers
living in the Scottish Highlands.
We operate under the umbrella of
the national body "Scottish
Badgers" who are recognised
by the Scottish Executive,
Scottish Natural Heritage, and the
Police as the voice of badgers in
Scotland.
Background
The
Strathspey Badger Hide, near Boat
of Garten, was set up in 1996. The purpose of the hide is to
provide badger enthusiasts and
conservationists of all ages with
the chance to watch wild badgers
at close quarters.
Funding
The
hide was originally built with the
help of funds from Scottish
Natural Heritage. It
is maintained from the donations
made by visitors.
